''Every girl creates a dream in her mind; everyone needs an idol.'' Andrea's pick.

So I’m a little late with this one, apologies!

I’ve already outlined my fictional idols on my personal site (http://fashionono.wordpress.com/) so I’ll focus on some real life inspiration here.

1. Grace Slick

The lead singer of the band that began psychedelic rock and the woman who tried to spike Richard Nixon’s tea with LSD. If I could jam with anybody in the world it would be this lady.

2. Theresa Wayman

Singer and guitarist in Warpaint. Theresa and the rest of the members of Warpaint have created a sound somewhere between post-rock and good old fashioned shoegaze. Their sound is like nothing else. She’s a heck of a guitarist too.

3. Audrey Tautou

Beautiful, talented, artistic, french and adorable. Whats not to love about her?

4. Elena Tonra

Part of the duo ‘Daughter’ she writes melodies and lyrics that make me want to write music but also throw my guitar out the window because she’s just so god damn good! She’s high on my ‘to-see-live’ list, and a total songwriting inspiration.

5. Zooey Deschanel

I won’t pretend that my similarity to this girl in the looks department doesn’t flatter me when pointed out to me, sometimes even by strangers! I look up pictures of her bangs whenever I need to cut my own, and her quirky not-so-sure-if-she-can-actually-sing voice makes me relate to her (I’m in the not so sure category myself).
